Street Photography

Saturday 15 July
Cubit Coworks - 10am - 2 Hours
People, cafes, vendors, street merchants, buskers, historic buildings, art installations and much more. The power of observation underpins the art of great street photography. Learning to "see" interesting detail is a practised skill and we introduce you to easy methods that will open your photographer's eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you. We will also go over settings, focusing techniques and lens choices common to street photography to help us capture those random chance encounters.

Despite the rain, which nobody could control, I totally enjoyed the event. I was able to learn from Thomas and get some images that I normally would not have gotten. I'm already looking forward to attending another one.
    Thomas Young
Thomas Young was born and raised in Western Mass. Always having loved art, he first picked up a camera over a decade ago as a way to gather references and study light for painting. He hasn't been able to put the camera down since.

Thomas has traveled and photographed much of New England, including most of the waterfalls in Mass, but always returns to fine art and street photography.
    Marcus Scott
Marcus Scott has been doing photography for a year and a half. During that time, he discovered his love for shooting all kinds of things but some of his favorites are parties, concerts and portraits. He loves the ability to freeze someone in a moment of time and to capture the priceless memories.

Outside of photography, he grew up in Western, MA his whole life and spent much of his childhood playing various sports such as football basketball and track.
    Theresa Berard
Theresa, is the founder of Tennessee Rose Creative.

She's a Western Mass based photographer with a background in Fine Arts and Architecture. Her interest in photography started with a point-and-shoot camera exploring the forgotten spaces at her community college and hometown. Since then, she's taken to commercial photography, shooting cakes, pizza and more for Big Y Foods, architectural projects for Jablonski DeVriese Architects, as well as weddings and senior portraits.

When she's not researching the latest developments in photography or architecture, she's writing for her two music endeavors: a solo-project, Tennessee Rose and a 6-piece rock band, Opel.
