Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Springfield .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Springfield Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

We had a great time taking photos in the freshly fallen snow. I learned how to set my camera up quick and my pictures were coming out so much clearer by the end of the class. Thank you

This photo was taken at the Bacard? Museum in Puerto Rico. The clay pots in the corner and that bright yellow wall were calling me to take a picture! They instantly reminded me of my grandma's clay flower pots in her basement, and suddenly all those memories came rushing back&128155&128155&128155

This was inspired by the Flemish painters of the 15th and 16th century, though the style goes by the Italian name, "Chiaroscuro," which uses strong contrast between light and dark. A single flash was used with a 45 degree reflector that contained a 20 degree grid to keep the light tight.

This was the scene on my office wall every day that we had sun, and I had always thought to capture it. It was specifically shot to create a minimalist image. I softened many of the details on the wall, removing the texture to create a maximal minimalist effect.

I had seen a lens at a photo flea market in Brattleboro that caught my eye: a Sony 90mm macro that I'd had my eye on, but my pocketbook wouldn't allow for it. But for $10, I was willing to take a chance! This macro image was shot with this lens. Every winter, we try to get an Amaryllis in the house for at least a hope of spring. The sun was coming in just right that day, so I started shooting. This is the light that dispels the winter darkness for me.

I was over the moon from the start of shooting this shot to the final edit.It was my first time when I finally learned how to use a tracker after owning the tracker for one year. I was stunned after seeing those images. Never had a chance to shoot that long exposure, but found it was absolutely worth it.I was with my partner and friends at Pandanus on Litchfield, and definitely was thinking of shooting in a conventional style. So, I definitely wasn?t prepared. Also, the moon was going to

Originally showed up at Gouldsboro State Park at sunrise to get a backlit, misty shot of the island but when I got there, NO mist, and enough boats on the lake to walk across!Quickly decided to take a backroad to another favorite spot nearby, and slammed on the brakes as I was driving over a small bridge when I looked to the right and saw THIS scene. Finding it was sheer luck, but as always, just getting out there at first light is half the battle. Made this one standing right on the bridge.
